One year at the fair, Mad Dog told me to park my car on the backside of the midway, behind the Tilt-a-Whirl. I did this for eleven days (when offered a good parking spot on a midway you take it, you don’t question) but what I didn’t realize when I took him up on it was that people were going to exit the Tilt-a-Whirl and brace themselves against my car while they threw up that funnel cake they just ate. Thank God it rained a lot that year.

It may surprise some to know that a large percentage of spot-help employees returned year after year to either work the fair or visit friends and family.
