My friend Walter, goes to Fifty Forward adult daycare in Nashville. This is a birdhouse he made there.
(Note: In the late sixties, Walter was awarded a scholarship to the School of Engineering at Vanderbilt. The day before his high school graduation he was involved in an automobile accident that left his body crippled and his thoughts disorganized so he didn’t get to go. His mother died before he was released from the hospital. He spent time working odd jobs, had roommates, became homeless, lived at the mission and finally settled into single residence housing, where he lived for a number of years. Two years ago he was transferred to the group home where he currently lives. He is sixty-one years old.)
